About Us
Our FirmAbout Heritage Line
Wealth Management
Heritage Line takes its name from the road where Murray Richardson's grandparents' farm once stood. It was a place built on hard work, honesty, family, and treating people the right way, long before it was ever the name of a financial firm. Those values shaped how Murray was raised, and they still set the standard for how we work with clients today. Sitting down with us means getting straightforward answers, respect for your time, and a level of care that holds steady regardless of the size of your account.
We opened our doors in 2002, originally under the name C.D. Financial. The name has changed since then, but the reason behind our work has not. What began as a smaller practice has grown into a team built around goal- and values-based planning, the kind that starts with understanding a person's life before it ever gets to their portfolio. That approach has carried us through every kind of market since.
Our MissionWhy Special Needs
Planning Matters to us
Murray's daughter is non-verbal and autistic, and that reality shapes how we approach planning for families in similar situations. Special needs planning is not a checkbox on a services list for us. It is personal, and it calls for a real understanding of what is at stake, both financially and emotionally, when a family plans for a loved one who will need support long after the parents are gone. That perspective informs how we structure trusts, coordinate benefits, and talk through the harder questions many families are afraid to ask out loud.
What we stand forThe Values that Guide every decision.
These guide the decisions we make, from how a portfolio is built to how a difficult conversation gets handled.
Trust
Showing up consistently, not just when markets are calm.
Integrity
Giving clients the answer they need, even when it isn't the one they were hoping for.
Stewardship
Treating a client's money with the same care as if it were their own.
Wisdom
Recognizing that the right answer for one family isn't always the right answer for another, and taking the time to figure out which one applies.
Our TeamThe People Behind Your Plan.
The way we lead comes down to a standard we hold ourselves to: every recommendation has to hold up to the same values we were raised on before it ever reaches you. Whether we are shaping how your plan is structured or working through a difficult decision alongside you, that judgment guides how we approach the relationship from the first meeting forward.
Murray Richardson
Financial Advisor, President
Murray grew up in a small blue-collar community, where hard work, keeping your word, and looking after your neighbors were simply part of life. Those values have stayed with him throughout the nearly two decades as a financial advisor.
A Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA), Murray has a particular interest in understanding how people make financial decisions and helping clients navigate them with greater confidence and clarity. Naturally curious, he enjoys learning, asking questions, exploring new ideas, and understanding how things work. That curiosity carries into his work as well, particularly his interest in emerging technology and how it can improve the way clients are served.
Outside the office, Murray is a proud father of two and an active member of his community. He serves on the Board of Directors of Bornhava (an organization supporting young children with developmental disabilities), supports his daughter’s current school The Summit Center, and enjoys coaching youth baseball, golfing, playing tennis and pickleball, traveling, and spending time with his family.
For Murray, relationships have always been at the heart of what he does. Many clients are generational, and he considers their trust one of the greatest privileges of his career.
Marissa Schenback
Registered Assistant
Marissa has been an integral part of the HLWM team since 2019 and, in many ways, is the backbone of the office. Holding her Series 6 and SIE registrations, she helps keep the team organized, accountable, and focused on doing what’s right for each client.
Hardworking, courteous, and genuinely kind, Marissa has built relationships with clients that extend well beyond paperwork and account servicing. Over the years, many have come to know her as a trusted resource and familiar voice they can count on when they need help.
Outside the office, Marissa is a proud mom of two boys, and much of her time is happily spent at travel baseball fields and school basketball courts. When she isn't cheering them on, she enjoys traveling, playing pickleball, attending concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
Karrie Boulware
Client Relationship Manager
Karrie has been a part of the HLWM team for the past three years. Karrie enjoys building meaningful relationships with clients and helping make their experience with the firm as smooth and welcoming as possible. She has spearheaded various client events that we’ve held at Salvatore’s, Amici’s, Jazzboline, not to mention our annual client appreciation picnics.
Outside of work, Karrie lives in Kenmore, NY, with her husband and their beloved dog, Romeo. They enjoy traveling, discovering great local restaurants, and catching a show at Shea’s Performing Arts Center. And, of course, Karrie is a huge Buffalo Bills fan and is always happy to talk Bills—especially during football season!
